The Benefits of Renderings & A Peek Behind The Scenes

Design projects can be extremely exciting, but can also be overwhelming. One of the most stressful components about design projects is wondering if the idea you have in your head will turn out the way you want. Visualizing the final design of a project is not something that is easy to do and it can lead to doubt, confusion, and frustration with the process.

Renderings Changed My Kitchen

This is something I experienced when designing my own home, specifically with the design of my kitchen. I had a vision of what I wanted but I wasn’t quite sure how it would look and wanted to confirm the design before starting the construction process. I downloaded a program and learned how to create my own renderings. I put my kitchen layout into the program, added the gray cabinets and selections, and thought “oh no.”

The vision I had in my head did not translate the way I thought it would into my kitchen, and I realized that I needed to go back to the drawing board. After some style and color adjustments, I finally landed on a design that I loved, and I felt confident moving forward with the construction. Had I not gone through this process, my kitchen would have looked complete different today! I still think it would have turned out well, but by using renderings I was able to make it even better.

“Will This Actually Look Good?”

This is one of the questions I feel like a lot of us have going into design projects. Visualizing the final design can be a challenge and going into a project when you don’t feel confident in your ideas can be scary. Visualizing the final product in a rendering allows you to confirm your decisions and have piece of mind while going into a design project.

Confirming Decisions With Renderings

In the Transitional Remodel Kitchen, our goal was to design a classic and neutral kitchen while also creating a focal point on the back wall since the stovetop is located in the island. When looking at these two different paint options, we determined that the black paint was the perfect way to determine a focal point since it added symmetry as well as a pop of color to the black wall.
